The four exhibiting artists were selected from SALON/15 to exhibit their full body of work in Photofusion's SELECT/16 exhibition. Andrew Youngson, Emma Evelyn Speight, Caroline Jane Harris and Andrew Meredith have each been awarded a bursary and professional mentoring to develop and exhibit this work. The four projects were individually championed by Photofusion's staff and members of our board.

Andrew Youngson's project, "Lost Light", was selected by gallerist Julie Gavin. Andrew is a London based artist whose work explores the relationship between landscape and memory under the shadow of conflict. After graduating with a BA in Fine Art, Andrew interned at Magnum Photos and has been working as a freelance photographer since 2006. He has recently completed an MA in Drawing at University of the Arts London.

Emma's project, "Zufluchtsort," was selected by Photomonitor founder Christiane Monarchi. Emma, a London born photographer, graduated from the University of Brighton in 2012 with a BA Hons in Photography. Having always suffered from wanderlust, Emma immerses herself in foreign environments to make work which explores what it means to find contentment and how this impacts on a wider community. She finds that by shooting exclusively on film, she is able to stay present in the encounter unfolding rather than focus on the photographs she is making, enabling the work to speak organically and honestly.

Caroline Jane Harris' cut paper work was chosen by Kim Shaw, Executive Director at Photofusion. Caroline was born in London, England in 1987. She works predominantly with digital and traditional photographic printmaking processes, in conjunction with her distinct hand-cutting technique. Caroline completed an MA in Fine Art with Distinction at City & Guilds of London Art School in 2015, where she was awarded the Norman Ackroyd Prize for Etching and the Roger de Grey Drawing Prize. She is currently artist in residence at the Florence Trust and Printmaking Fellow at City & Guilds of London Art School.

Andrew Meredith's project, "Introversion," an exploration of scale and ambiguity within a dark landscape, was selected by Brandei Estes, Director, Head of Photographs Department London, Sotheby's. Andrew is a London based photographer working globally on editorial and commercial projects for world-renowned fashion brands, architects, and magazines. His commercial and personal work focuses on landscape and built space.
