SELPh is a community photography project, now in its fourth year. It offers people with recent experience of mental illness an opportunity to take photographs and use them to reflect on their experiences in a group setting. This year the group has consisted of people of all ages and from all walks of life. This was reflected in a diverse range of weekly themes that were chosen by the group to inspire their photographs.

None of the members are from a professional photography background and all the pictures were taken with the same 'one design' compact camera. However, the images are inspiring, fresh and each photographer brings a unique perspective on South East London.

The group runs as a voluntary collaboration between members and facilitators all with an interest in photography. It is supported by the Maudsley Charity and the Health Inequalities Research Network (HERON).
