Hello you! My name is Lena and i am the happiest kiddo to do the Photofusion takeover this week 🙂 

I am 32 and from Germany. Currently hanging out in London. Started with photography in 2017 while travelling the world. Got into film photography winter 2021 and i fell in love with it because it’s slow and i am normally too fast for life. It feeds my soul. I like to shoot reflections & shadows, streets & shops, also surfing. And myself in mirrors. And i like being a photographer in the background to catch the beauty of people when they don’t even know how beautiful they are. Shooting with Leica and voigtländer cameras these days.

I came to London in September 23 and started exploring the city with my cameras. I live in West Norwood with my boyfriend and Photofusion right away became my go-to-place to develop the films from my first weeks in London and the UK. 

This first picture shows the sunny city Leuven in Belgium - I chose to share it with you because it is from the first role of film I ever developed with Photofusion. Plus I took the picture on the weekend that we came from Belgium to London by train. I find it to be connected to my journey to London, to the start of my life in London and the start of my connection to Photofusion. The other pictures come from my walks I take to get to know the city.

Being in London for me means, having a lot of 1st experiences, moments and connections. This picture (developed by Photofusion) is the first one I ever printed and gifted to loved ones in Christmas times. Lucky me I also got a Photofusion related Christmas gift which is a workshop happening this march 🙂

I started being more focused on gaining understanding for what catches my interest - What is it that makes me stop to walk and take the picture? The following series of pictures in took in the last months in London shows a sum up of that. I simply can't ignore the beauty of light & shadows. I am big fan of grainy and blurry ones. I will always stop for reflections in mirrors and windows as well as the movement of cars, bikes and people in a still picture and obviously colourful signs in shops. 

My last post for the Photofusion members takeover. We are looking at my first trip to Brighton. 

The series is called: Nice to meet you, UK. 

The feelings of leaving one home and creating another one are like nothing else. The happiness and excitement of a new chapter, the insecurities and the getting lost. All of the new impressions and learnings to soak in and understand. The calm after the storm, the routines and the new favourites. I am very happy that Photofusion became my favourite film lab and after just a few months of spending time in the UK I had the chance to do this Instagram takeover. Thank you so much for that opportunity!
