Riki Nihongi
Hello, I am Riki Nihongi. Thank you to Photofusion for letting me share my project within the members blog.
I`m working as a photographer while working at a company that publishes a magazine specializing in civil engineering. Civil engineering works in a wide range of fields, from land formation to maintenance and renewal, so you can acquire a wide range of knowledge and ways of thinking. And what is happiness, through the perspectives of photography and publishing? What is the ideal state? I'm thinking about this unanswered question.
Engaging in creative activities and working as an editor and salesperson in the publishing industry have played a significant role in shaping my personality. Although these two fields may seem separate at first glance, for me, they constitute a single path. They resonate with each other, sharpening my sensibilities and making me aware of things I hadn't noticed before, leading to new discoveries. I achieve balance through the expansive nature of my intellectual curiosity, pondering how my perspectives will continue to broaden.
I am also interested in the relationship between society and art and the role that society expects from artists, and as part of that, I am interested in programs such as VTS and am currently studying them. The world continues to change, but the speed of change varies from person to person. If the speed of change were constant, would the world be better? I started to ask this question. I'm searching for the answer.
I am interested in the 「Act of seeing」and「Relationships of others」, I approach these two topics to enhance my understanding of others through photography.
I believe that the act of "seeing" is an important part of the process through which people develop. I interpret the act of "seeing" as something that leads to understanding, sparking interest, connecting to action, following the circuit of "thinking," and continually deepening.
I take a photo out of place more than where there are people, I think out as place have hint promote to understanding other and myself. What I feel through photography is the realization that not everything is fully visible. What we see with our own eyes is only part of the picture, and even with the power of photography, it is challenging to grasp the whole.
Through the power of photography, we can discover part of the "invisible world" within this existence. Viewers see my artwork who said 「your photos are like pictures of dream...」..., I hope through my artwork to prepare your mind and body, and I believe that if you reconsider your relationships with yourself and others, you will have the opportunity to notice things you have overlooked. I think important 「white blank」 that is given a chance process change the world.
Through photography, I approach the act of "seeing," grasp the things that are not visible, refine my senses, and immerse myself in the act of "seeing" with heightened awareness. Personally, through my creative activities, I want to communicate to communities and individuals that one’s perspective can broaden and lead to an infinite expansion of possibilities if one desires.
