Colour Darkroom Printing - Saturday 22 February

£210.00

Dates: 22nd February 2025

Days: Saturday

Time: 11:00 - 17:00

Length: 1 Day

Tutor: Steff Jamieson

Learn how to print stunning colour prints (C-Type) using your colour negatives. This course is suitable for colour printing beginners and is a great refresher for those who haven't used the colour darkroom for a while. Colour printing is an advanced technique to black and white printing, therefore we encourage attendees to have some basic black and white printing experience beforehand.

Please bring a selection of 35mm or 120 roll-film colour negatives that have been exposed in daylight (not under artificial light) and preferably some with neutral tones, such as tarmac and concrete. You will achieve a better print when working with well exposed negatives. There is no need to source darkroom paper for the session, Fuji Crystal Archive Paper will be supplied by Photofusion.

The course will cover:

How to use Yellow, Magenta & Cyan filtration

How to assess and correct colour casts

Adjusting exposure time according to filtration

Working with a Colenta RA4 paper processor

Please note, this session only covers printing from processed negatives, do not bring unprocessed film.

This course is limited to 3 participants.
